Dr Amos Gizo, Board Chairman Lower Benue River Development Authority Enumerates Reasons why Bola Ahmed Tinubu should return to Aso Rock. By CHINONYEREM IGWE, Abuja
The Chairman of the Lower Benue Rivers Basin Development Authority and Coordinating Chairman of the twelve Basin Development Authorities, as well as Member of the Governing Council, Federal University of Lafia, and Patron of the Tricycle Union (Keke) Dr. Amos Gizo has commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the decisive strides taken to stabilize the nation’s economic activities since his assumption of office.
He stated this during a stakeholders’ rally and engagement for the Motorcycle and Keke Napep Union across the federation, held recently in Abuja and organized by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Transportation and Mobilization, Hon. Ademola Ade John, to sensitize the leadership and entire membership of the Union ahead of the 2027 re-election.
Addressing journalists in Abuja, Dr. Amos Gizo praised Hon. Ademola Ade-John for unveiling a bold and far-reaching initiative within less than a month, commending the programme for showcasing to Nigerians the administration’s accomplishments and what the President intends to deliver should he secure a second term in office on January 16, 2027.
Dr. Amos Gizo further stated that any individual or group opposed to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term is not acting in the best interest of the country. According to him, Tinubu has performed creditably and deserves another term to consolidate on the gains already achieved. He noted that, with several progress recorded in the first four years, the President requires more time to build firmly on these achievements.
He explained that many of the administration’s policies have positively impacted the economy, catapulting Nigeria among the comity of nations through a growing economic outlook and improved Gross Domestic Product. Dr. Amos Gizo highlighted key achievements of President Tinubu within the last four years to include the outright removal of oil subsidy, which has fostered liberalization in the oil and gas sector; the construction of the Lagos–Calabar Highway aimed at opening up the Southern corridors for smoother movement of people and goods; and the Sokoto–Lagos Superhighway, a project that had lingered since the era of Shehu Shagari, noting that the Tinubu administration has prioritized its completion to boost productivity and generate employment.
He also commended the administration for strengthening work at the state and local government levels, emphasizing that ensuring Local Government Financial Autonomy remains sacrosanct.
In the education sector, Dr. Amos Gizo said President Tinubu established and funded the NELFUND initiative to support indigent students with accessible loans, featuring flexible repayment arrangements. He added that the President has also taken decisive steps to address the recurrent crisis in universities by meeting with university professors during periods of industrial action to find lasting solutions.
He noted that the health sector has similarly received a major boost, stressing that primary healthcare delivery and the broader health system have improved significantly. The Board Chairman further highlighted notable improvements in the economy, including greater stability in the naira exchange rate compared to the frequent fluctuations experienced in the past.
Dr. Amos Gizo reminded Nigerians that foreign companies are beginning to relocate and invest in Nigeria’s solid mineral sector, including lithium, gold, and other mineral resources. He also pointed out that reforms in the petroleum industry have yielded tangible results, including the reduction of queueing at filling stations and the availability of fuel 24/7.
Concluding, Dr. Amos Gizo affirmed that with the milestones achieved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President deserves more than a single term to complete the Renewed Hope agenda. He thanked the leadership and management of United Commercial Keke Napeb and Motorcycle Raiders of Nigeria (UCKMORAN) for aligning with and supporting the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He appealed to Nigerians to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office to enable him finish and deliver the Renewed Hope agenda.
