The Local Chairmen of Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State and also the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Nasarawa State Chapter, Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, has commended Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, for his steadfast commitment to accelerating infrastructural development across the state.
Hon. Safiyanu made the commendation in an interview with newsmen in Akwanga during the official commissioning of the 3.7-kilometre dualised Akwanga Township Roads. The project, which features a state-of-the-art circular intersection, also includes a 600-metre dual-carriageway underpass designed to streamline traffic flow and enhance roadway efficiency.
The ALGON chairman stated that the initiative has substantially elevated the aesthetic outlook of Akwanga while simultaneously improving mobility and road safety for motorists and other users navigating the corridor.
He further applauded Governor Sule’s visionary leadership and people-centred approach, describing him as a devoted proponent of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Hon. Safiyanu also underscored the importance of the flagging of the over 400-kilometre Akwanga–Kaduna-plateau Bauchi– Gombe-Borno Superhighway Legacy Project, noting that the undertaking is expected to invigorate economic activities, reinforce inter-regional connectivity, and improve the livelihoods of Nigerians whose daily trade and travel depend on the route.
The ALGON Chairman urged Nigerians to continue offering prayers for their leaders, emphasising that divine direction and support remain indispensable to sustaining good governance and enabling the delivery of further development projects that directly impact the people.
He concluded by expressing optimism that, with sustained collaboration between government and citizens, Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole will witness greater progress, improved infrastructure, and enduring economic prosperity.
