Dr. Aliyu Zakari Jiya Charges Over Eighty Five Pharmacists inductees to uphold Standard in the Profession. By CHINONYEREM IGWE, Abuja .

A distinguished Pharmacist and astute politician, Dr. Aliyu Zakari Jiya, has called for uniformity and strict adherence to global standards in the practice of pharmacy. He made the assertion during the formal induction of members who studied abroad.
As the lead speaker at the ceremony, he explained that the essence of the paper was how to harmonize independent prescriptions with Nigerian standards, so that patients—and by extension, the nation—can derive greater benefit from professional healthcare delivery.
He stated, “Nigerians expect the newly inducted professionals to add tangible value to our health system, and Nigeria stands to gain immensely from your contributions. As members of the healthcare team, pharmacists will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that the patient—the true centre of focus—receives competent, safe, and standard treatment.”
Dr. Aliyu Zakari Jiya ultimately charged the inductees to be proud of the profession and to consistently serve as exemplary ambassadors of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria.
Dr. Jiya has held several offices, including Branch Chairman, National Vice President, and later National President. He is also a well-known grassroot politician from Kogi, having contested the governorship ticket twice.
