Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a distant technology of the future but a present-day instrument already reshaping lives, enterprises, and national economies, according to the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of 7AI Technologies, Dr. Kayode Femi, who disclosed that he authored an entire book within one week using Artificial Intelligence alongside his own audio voice.
Dr. Femi made this revelation during the 7AI Abuja Conference held at the Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, where hundreds of participants from diverse sectors convened to examine AI’s accelerating impact on Africa’s development and the future of work.
In his opening address, Dr. Femi explained that the book—titled “African Intelligence Amplified: Trust, Tools and Transformation – A Step-by-Step Guide for Every African Ready to Use AI”—illustrates how AI, when deployed responsibly, can substantially enhance productivity. He emphasised that rather than supplanting human intelligence, AI should be understood as a formidable partner—enabling individuals and organisations to address problems more swiftly, devise innovative solutions, and unlock fresh economic opportunities.
A veterinary surgeon by training, an AgriTech innovator, and an Ashoka Fellow, Dr. Femi stated that his professional journey is anchored in the conviction that Africa’s most pressing challenges are solvable through purposeful innovation. As founder of Farm Alert Limited, described as West Africa’s largest veterinary distribution network operating across five countries, and as founder of 7AI Technologies, he noted that for nearly two decades he has been building practical systems aimed at improving the everyday lives of ordinary Nigerians.
The conference commenced with participant registration and guided visits to exhibition stands showcasing emerging AI solutions, before the formal opening ceremony. The event featured an opening address by Dr. Femi, followed by keynote presentations from Engr. Victory Muyiwa Ajabiowe, Founder and CEO of Arctic Control Limited, and Ikeh Titus Adakole, CEO of Open Space Financial Services.
A major highlight of the programme was a sequence of panel discussions running from afternoon into the evening, in which experts from varied professional backgrounds assessed how Artificial Intelligence is redefining sectors such as education, agriculture, finance, entrepreneurship, and public service. The discussions centred on responsible AI adoption, digital innovation, ethical considerations, and concrete pathways for preparing Nigerians for an AI-driven economy.
Dr. Femi also delivered a special presentation titled “African Intelligence Amplified – A Vision for Africa’s Future,” in which he urged governments, businesses, and educational institutions to prioritise AI literacy and targeted digital skills development, positioning Africa to emerge as a global technology powerhouse.
The conference concluded with a closing ceremony, a vote of thanks, and an extensive networking session that enabled delegates to engage speakers, industry leaders, and fellow participants—while exploring opportunities for collaboration and shared impact.
Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the conference, Hon. Ginika Florence Tor commended Dr. Femi for advancing AI education and public awareness across Nigeria. She described Artificial Intelligence as an unavoidable reality that every Nigerian must learn to embrace.
“This is the time to work with the future because AI has come to stay,” she said.
Hon. Tor urged the Federal Government to embed Artificial Intelligence into Nigeria’s educational curriculum, enabling children to build digital capabilities from an early age. She further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the Smart Schools initiative being rolled out across local government areas, describing it as a strategic investment capable of bridging the digital divide and equipping Nigerian children for the global knowledge economy. She encouraged Nigerian youth to move beyond low-income employment and instead acquire AI skills that can power sustainable careers, new businesses, and wealth creation.
Conference participants also applauded the organisers for delivering an engaging, practical, and high-impact learning experience. Many delegates noted that they were leaving Abuja with renewed resolve to deepen their understanding of AI, develop relevant competencies, and apply the technology responsibly to create meaningful social and economic value within their communities.
Another key attraction of the conference was the official launch of Dr. Femi’s new book, “African Intelligence Amplified: Trust, Tools and Transformation – A Step-by-Step Guide for Every African Ready to Use AI.” The author explained that the publication itself stands as practical proof that AI can significantly accelerate content creation while preserving the creator’s originality through voice-enabled technology.
Participants were also briefed on the 7AI Academy, described as one of Nigeria’s most practical AI learning platforms. The academy offers fully virtual, certificate-bearing courses tailored for business owners, professionals, students, civil servants, and entrepreneurs seeking to improve productivity, increase income, and build scalable businesses using Artificial Intelligence. Organisers announced an exclusive 50 per cent tuition discount for conference participants on all academy courses.
The conference attracted several distinguished personalities, including Her Royal Majesty AIG Dr. Aishatu Abubakar Baju, Hon. Ginika Florence Tor, Ikeh Titus Adakole, Engr. Victory Muyiwa Ajabiowe, Taslim Salaudeen, Dr. Paul Alaje, Dr. Steve Olusegun Ogidan, mni, Jeremiah Shika, Tajani Bulama, Lola Adey, Jephthah Odei, Maimuna Ummi Abdullahi, Dr. Benjamin Wayo, alongside many other leaders from government, business, technology, and academia.
As the event concluded, the message was clear: Artificial Intelligence is rapidly evolving into an indispensable tool for Africa’s development, and equipping citizens with practical AI skills will be critical for driving innovation, improving productivity, and generating sustainable economic opportunities across the continent.
