Abians are Ready to Vote Alex Otti Comes 2027, Says Hon Ginger Onwusibe. By CHINONYEREM IGWE

Governor Alex Otti’s tenure in the governance of Abia State signifies a remarkable transformation in the narrative surrounding the state’s administration. From decades of public disillusionment with infrastructural deterioration and governmental ineptitude, we now witness a period characterized by palpable development, strategic foresight, and institutional reforms. Indeed, the metamorphosis is akin to the contrast between night and day.
No administration is devoid of critics and challenges, yet juxtaposing the previous administrations of Abia State with the current leadership of Dr. Alex Otti is reminiscent of comparing hell and heaven, stagnation and progressiveness, or, in the vernacular of the locale – Egypt and the Promised Land of Canaan, as aptly depicted in the Bible.
For over 24 years (1999–2023), the decline and governmental unresponsiveness escalated to alarming levels. The immediate past administration left an indelible negative impression on the populace, prompting Abians to fervently pray that such governance should never recur.
The infrastructural neglect and decay experienced by the state were monumental, earning Abia the notorious title of the worst state in Nigeria. From inadequate service delivery and scant visible development to allegations of corruption, misappropriation of funds, and a pronounced lack of public trust in government, the Civil Service was in disarray. Receiving salaries after a month of diligent labor became a luxury. Numerous public officials were owed salaries exceeding 24 months. Pensioners bore the brunt of this neglect; aged citizens who had served the state with distinction languished in hunger, with many passing away in penury, deprived of the fruits of their labor due to a callous administration.
His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, has introduced innovative dimensions and approaches to governance, propelling the state onto a trajectory of enhanced profitability. His strategic vision and long-term developmental planning have positioned the state for sustained growth. His administration is widely acclaimed for its professional governance and transparency, eschewing the distribution of state resources among a select elite, marking a significant departure from the unproductive political practices of the past.
Moreover, one of the most conspicuous distinctions from previous administrations lies in infrastructure and urban renewal. Connectivity in rural areas has seen substantial improvement through the extensive construction of roads. These advancements have facilitated the linkage of previously isolated towns to economic hubs, thereby invigorating local commerce.
In the Public Service sector, a renaissance of order has been restored. The substantial salary arrears have been rectified. Workers now receive their remuneration punctually, including the payment of the ‘13th Month,’ which was previously deemed an unattainable aspiration under past administrations. Dr. Alex Otti has also addressed all pension arrears, thereby restoring credibility to governance.
Otti’s accomplishments represent a marked departure from decades of neglect, particularly in healthcare, education, human capital development, employment, Civil Service reforms, governance standards, and fiscal discipline.
These remarkable impacts within a mere two years have repositioned Abia State on a path to recovery, eliciting widespread acclaim and support both within the state, throughout the nation, and in the diaspora. The change is tangible, and Abians are reveling in this new era.
Abia State is not for sale! Our allegiance to Dr. Alex Otti’s second tenure is unequivocal. Scrutinize those who assail his administration. Investigate their antecedents; they are solely interested in appropriating the resources of our beloved state for personal gain, to be shared among their avaricious associates. They harbor no genuine concern for the welfare of Abia State.
Let us unite and collectively combat the same malevolence that plagued the state for 24 years. Abia has witnessed the dawn of enlightenment, and we resolutely commit to never returning to the shadow he concluded .
