The Igbos should Maintain and Sustain their Rich Cultural Heritage Chief Sir Oliver Akubueze PHD. By CHINONYEREM IGWE

A renown Chief in Lagos, Chief Sir Oliver Akubueze,and former President of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Lagos State has called on the entire Igbo both at home and Diaspora to sustain and maintain the rich cultural uniqueness of Igbo People.
 He made the Clarion call recently in during the celebration of much revered New Yam  Festival held at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja.
 Answering questions from journalists, the former President Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, pinpointed the significance of the New Yam Festival to every Igbo person. He termed New Yam Festival as one of the unique identities of Igbo Ethnic Nationality in  both in Nigeria and in Diaspora 
 Chief Sir, Akubueze, the Mmiri Ndi Igbo, reiterated the importance of Yam as the the King of crops in Igboland. 
He further,stated the celebration of the event gives opportunities for uniting Igbos irrespective of the state you come from. "It is one of the binding factors holding the Igbod today despite dialectical differences ',he said.
He also quickly used the opportunity to advise the Igbo in their entirety  to hold fast those Rich cultural uniqueness and never allow them to die,as they are the Identity of the Igbos.he concluded.
The highlight of the event was launching of the Yams with various sums from various Ezes and  prominent sons and daughters of Igbo extraction. Colourful displays of masquerades and other dances. 
The occasion was was well attended by Igbo and their well wishers from other tribes.
